Toolkit aims to support transition from early years to school
The Early Years Alliance has launched a toolkit to support early years settings preparing children to make the transition from early years education to school.
Providers can share resources with families and use them to reflect on the transition process for children starting school. The Moving on up toolkit aims to promote positive transitions, taking into consideration the equally important roles played by families, early years providers, schools and the community.
The resources are designed to ensure that the child remains at the centre of the process and is offered the best support to ensure a smooth transition.
The Alliance also runs free Moving on up sessions for early educators provide resources and support to deliver a three-week family learning programme to families in their setting.
