Having served the local community since the 1990’s, Oliver Shapley Playgroup has earned a truly enviable reputation demonstrating historically healthy occupancy levels, whilst also enjoying regular referrals and recommendations.

Based close to Manchester City Centre, the playgroup was rated “Good” by Ofsted in its last inspection in March 2017.

Registered for 25 children aged between 2 to 5 years, the setting occupies a convenient and accessible position within a highly desirable residential area just a short drive from the major commuter routes with the public transport facilities motorways close at hand.

Having built up the playgroup for several years, the owner wanted to sell the business as they wanted to pursue lifestyle changes.

Olive Shapley Playgroup was sold to Mr & Mrs Walters, childcare business owners with over 10 years’ experience in the sector. The deal was completed in just 12 weeks after the sale price was agreed.

The buyers operate under Ducklings Pre-School, a group of eight childcare settings based in Milton Keynes. They said the location and the potential of Olive Shapley Playgroup is what attracted them to the opportunity.
