Your Nursery Ltd in Greater Manchester sold to first-time buyers
Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Your Nursery Ltd in Greater Manchester to a first-time buyer couple
Your Nursery Ltd is a 98-place children’s day nursery operating from an impressive former school property. The setting is situated in Openshaw, a popular area of regeneration just three miles away from Manchester City Centre, attracting a mix of local and commuting parents.
The business has been owned and operated by Sue Saxton since 2009 and has undergone numerous improvements over the years, with a large renovation of the property taking place in 2017 creating an internal environment with a natural way of thinking. The redevelopment has encouraged a massive following through word-of-mouth referrals and social media.
Following a confidential sales process with Sofia Beck at Christie & Co, Your Nursery Ltd has been purchased by a wife-and-husband team, Mrs Majd Heweiti and Mr Mohammed Chater, for whom it is their first day nursery setting.
Sue Saxton, former owner of Your Nursery Ltd, commented: “I opened Your Nursery Ltd in September 2010, after acquiring St Vincent’s School House lower floor on lease in June 2009. Since becoming a childminder in 1983, it was my dream to own my own nursery. I really enjoyed developing a disused building into a unique early years nursery that was desperately required in the area. I am so proud that I have been able to give the children and families a nursery with an award-winning environment, that has prospered and grown each year through the dedication of a wonderful team of staff. The partnership with each child and family are at the centre of everything the nursery does, and the nursery never forgets what it’s like to be a child and treasure those early childhood years.
“After dedicating 39 years to my career, the time was right for me to step back and have a well-earned rest and retirement. The sale was a drawn-out process but with the help of Sofia at Christie & Co, I was kept aware of all developments of the sale. At 39 years 11 months and six days, I am now retired and looking forward to a restful future. I wish Majd, Mohammed, and the team at Your Nursery Ltd all the success they deserve, and I cannot wait to see further developments from Majd and her team moving forward.”
Sofia Beck, director, Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, added: “It’s great to celebrate another successful transaction which, like some others this year, has come with its challenges. Sue was great throughout the deal – despite some personal setbacks, she remained a motivated seller and accommodated Majd’s and the lender’s needs and requirements where she could. Majd was an equally committed buyer who persevered and overcame the normal hurdles we tend to see in deals of this nature. As a result of the current market, buyers are faced with more thorough due diligence processes with their bank which is lengthening the average deal timeline, so it’s always beneficial to have us involved to push this process along more rapidly.
“I’m very pleased, for both the seller and the buyer, that we were all able to get this over the line. It’s been a pleasure working with Sue and I wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
Legal advice was provided to the buyer by Davis Blank Furniss. The team was led by Sonio Singh, Partner and Head of the Corporate Department, and supported by Lauren Sever, Corporate Associate and Rhiannon Turner, Property Solicitor. Sonio Singh added: “We were absolutely delighted to advise Majd and Mohammed to secure this key acquisition giving them a foothold in the Manchester market. It was a great result for all parties.”
Your Nursery Ltd was sold at an undisclosed price.
