Wee Gems Nursery Group sold to ICP Education

Wee Gems Nursery Group, located in Scotland, was sold to ICP Education Limited in a deal facilitated by Redwoods Dowling Kerr

The deal brings with it some further exciting changes for ICP. Following on from the recent announcement of ICP’s first North West acquisition with the purchase of Future Champions Nursery Group in Lancashire, ICP are now taking their first steps into Scotland.

Wee Gems Group is a superb group of four childcare settings located in Edinburgh and West Lothian and all settings are within approximately 10 miles of each other. The group has a combined capacity for  379 children and boasts professional accreditations, multiple awards, and is ranked as a Top 10 Scottish nursery group by the NDNA.

Mahyar Mortazavi and Boyd Murdoch decided to sell Wee Gems to allow Boyd a much-deserved retirement and for Mahyar to seek other business interests after 17 years.

Mahyar Mortazavi confirmed the excellent work done by the RDK team:

“We are not in the business of selling things therefore we don’t have the market knowledge or know how much we can push the value. We never expected offers to be received within 24 hours of viewings and after being told by other agents that we were dreaming it was an incredible result”

Director of Childcare & Education Jenna Caldwell stated: “It has been incredible working with Mayhar and Boyd with the sale of their group. I knew we would have to go above and beyond due to them being disappointed with their experience with a previous broker and to deliver from the outset which we really did. We received interest from far and wide but specifically Europe and the UK but ultimately Mahyar and Boyd felt that ICP were the perfect fit.

“I wish all parties the very best with their future plans and it is fantastic to know that Pante-a Mortazavi (Mahyar’s daughter) will be continuing with ICP as their operations manager.”
