Vacant London nursery to re-open as franchise

New tenants are set to re-open a vacant North London nursery as a franchise under the Canopy brand.
Sheila and Shane Popat purchased the lease of the three floor building in a deal brokered by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co. The nursery can cater for up to 95 children at any one time.
The Canopy Nurseries brand now has six settings in its portfolio and plans for further settings in the near future.
“We are delighted to be opening our first Canopy nursery in such a beautiful location,” said Sheila and Shane Popat. “The building has been thoughtfully designed to offer age-appropriate spaces inside and many outdoor opportunities in the extensive outdoor gardens. With a separate baby garden, sensory room, home economics space and community room, we are truly opening the nursery of our dreams.”
David Eaves, director – childcare and education at Christie & Co, said: “Seeing a vacant property being brought back to life is always positive, and this is continuation of a trend we saw last year, where nursery owners or new market entrants see the current demand in the market driven by funding changes and parental need, and are looking to capitalise on that by creating additional capacity to serve the requirements of local parents.”
