Tops Day Nurseries collaborates with Luke Pollard MP to advocate early years education through art
Tops Day Nurseries has joined forces with Luke Pollard MP to embrace a creative strategy in championing the significance of early education.
This initiative involves presenting artwork crafted by the children at Tops Day Nurseries, for exhibition in the Minister for Education’s waiting room. The collection of artwork was thoughtfully curated and subsequently showcased to Luke Pollard MP, representing Plymouth Sutton and Devonport, during his visit to Tops Bretonside.
The initiative aims to highlight the significance of early years education and the invaluable role nurseries play in fostering children’s creativity and artistic expression. The colourful and imaginative pieces created by the children showcase not only their individuality but also the immense benefits of engaging in artistic activities at an early age.
Painting and artistic endeavours offer numerous advantages for children’s development, including:
- Cognitive Skills: Artistic activities stimulate critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, enhancing children’s cognitive development
- Emotional Expression: Through art, children can express their emotions, helping them develop a healthy emotional outlet and build resilience
- Fine Motor Skills: Painting and crafting require fine motor skills, fostering dexterity and coordination in young learners
- Confidence Building: Celebrating their artistic accomplishments instils a sense of pride and confidence in children, nurturing their self-esteem
- Creativity and Imagination: Art activities encourage creativity and imagination, essential qualities for lifelong learning and innovation.
Amanda Vardy, regional manager said; “It was such a lovely visit, to show Luke how proud the children were to share their art. For them to express their own individual creativity”.
Through this artistic endeavor, Tops Day Nurseries hopes to raise awareness among politicians and the community about the profound impact of high-quality early education. By investing in children’s creativity and educational foundation, nurseries play a crucial role in shaping the future generation.
