The Old Station Nursery Group raise £206 for Macmillan Cancer Support

The Old Station Nursery Group celebrated Macmillan Coffee Morning on Thursday 29 September 2022, with the head office in Ascot raising £206 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

With the amount of money raised, The Old Station Nursery Group matched the donations, bringing the total amount to £412.

The team at the office, based in Sunningdale, Ascot invited the office staff and neighbouring companies within the business park to bake and bring their own cakes in, for others to enjoy for a small donation to raise money for the charity.

Macmillan Coffee Morning, hosted by Macmillan Cancer Support, is one of the biggest fundraising events to support people who are living with cancer. Although the charity raise money all year round, it is their annual September appeal that is well-known and participated in nationwide.

Commenting on the event, the head office’s Great Place To Work representative, Natalie said:

“Everyone knows someone who is or has been affected by cancer. MacMillan are 98% funded by voluntary donations and so by giving our time to host a coffee morning and raise some money, enables the charity to deliver the vital support they need. We met some local businesses in the offices we are in, providing cake and an opportunity to get to know those in the community we work.”

Sarah Steel, chief executive also commented: “We are incredibly thankful for the team in our Head Office and the other companies across the business park for supporting and donating to such an important cause. Raising money and awareness for local as well as national charities is an important part of life at The Old Station Nursery Group.

Many nurseries within The Old Station Nursery Group, which has 71 nurseries across the UK, also celebrated and raised money for Macmillan Coffee Morning with a variety of events, such as bake sales, coffee mornings and more.

Highlighting and celebrating national and international events, such as Macmillan Coffee Morning is an important part of the values at The Old Station Nursery Group, across the offices and nurseries alike. The nursery aims to enrich the children’s learning and development by giving them the opportunity to explore diverse topics which impact the world around them.
