Seymour House opens Chelmsford nursery

Seymour House nursery group has opened a purpose-built nursery in Chelmsford, bringing its total number of settings to 12.

Located on the city’s Channels estate, the nursery includes a kitchen garden for children to grow their own fruit and vegetables, and a rooftop terrace for preschoolers.

The Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford, Smita Rajesh, and her consort Rajesh Kumar joined the Seymour House team, partners, and guests to mark the opening of the nursery.

Brogan Hughes, nursery manager at Channels Day Nursery, said: “This event was a wonderful way to celebrate the hard work, creativity, and collaboration that made Channels possible. Every detail has been designed to support children as they grow in confidence, curiosity, and creativity. We’re so excited to begin this new chapter with our families.”

Megan Smith, Seymour House head of early years practice, said: “At Seymour House, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. The opening of Channels Day Nursery brings that vision to life with inspiring spaces, nourishing food, and an experienced team ready to provide a beyond brilliant nursery experience for every child who joins us.”

The setting will hold an Open Day on 25 October, inviting local families to explore the nursery, taste freshly prepared meals, and meet the team.
