Nursery group launches volunteering policy

The Old Station Nursery has launched a volunteering policy entitling employees to one fully paid day per year to volunteer with a charity or cause of their choice.
“This policy is about more than giving our teams time—it’s about empowering them to make a difference,” said Adelle Taylor, chief executive of The Old Station Nursery. “We want every team member to feel connected to their community and know they’re contributing to something truly meaningful – whether that’s through volunteering with our incredible partners at Rainbow Trust, or with a cause that’s close to their own heart. The scientific literature has repeatedly shown that acts of kindness and volunteering are strongly associated with improved mental health, overall wellbeing, and even better health outcomes over the long term.’’
The Old Station Nursery partners with Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which provides the families of seriously ill children with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support whenever they need it, for as long as needed.
