New owners take over Inwood Nursery
Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co, has announced the leasehold sale of Inwood Nursery in North Somerset.
Inwood Nursery is an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ day nursery setting with an effective operating capacity for up to 46 children aged from six weeks to five years. The business is located in the rural, picturesque village of Congresbury on the north western slopes of the Mendip Hills in North Somerset.
The business was recently brought to market to allow its owners to retire. Following a confidential sales process with Jassi Sunner and Rachel Godwin from Christie & Co, a new lease has been purchased by local childminder, Estella Wilmott, who is vastly experienced in the sector and has an excellent reputation with the local authority. She plans to bring her existing staff in-house and to immediately improve occupancy by welcoming her childminding children to the nursery.
Jassi Sunner, associate director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, commented: “Inwood Nursery has been the sole focus for the owners for a number of years and they have put a lot of effort into the business. Once we fielded a range of enquiries, we quickly realised what an excellent fit Estella would be for the business. She got on well with the vendors, and there was a clear synergy of where she could take the business. I met with Estella to discuss an offer in great detail and, with the help of my colleague, Jimmy Johns at Christie Finance, we were able to help her effectively finance the purchase. The buyer and seller met on a number of occasions to discuss the handover process and it was very pleasing to get a good result for all parties on this sale.”
Jimmy Johns, director – Christie Finance, who sourced funding for the buyer, stated: “It was great to work with Estella, supporting her to buy her first nursery setting, allowing her to expand her childminding business. Despite being Estella’s first nursery and the current economic climate, we were able to secure highly competitive terms of finance for her. I wish her all the best as she grows this established nursery business.”
Inwood Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
