Day nurseries set in The New Forest National Park sold to Family First
Business property advisor, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Fordingbridge Day Nursery and The Coach House Day Nursery in Hampshire
Fordingbridge Day Nursery operates from a converted pub which benefits from a large car park and substantial outdoor play areas that surround the property. The Coach House Day Nursery is a converted barn and forest school. Together, they care for up to 116 children aged zero to five years and are located in The New Forest National Park.
Tim and Elizabeth Morey opened The Coach House in 2004 followed by Fordingbridge Day Nursery in 2014. Earlier in 2022, Family First also acquired Ellingham House Day Nursery which is a short distance from these settings and so made the perfect cluster. The pair recently decided to sell to focus on other business ventures.
Following a confidential sales process with Christie & Co, the nurseries have sold to growing group, Family First, which now has over 80 settings in its portfolio.
Tim and Elizabeth commented: “Family First have shown us the commitment to our business that we believe will be a good thing for our staff and children going forward so thank you to them.”
Sophie Willcox, director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, stated: “It has been a pleasure working with Tim and Liz. They felt that Family First were the perfect fit for the business and I wish them every success for the future.
“This is one of several examples of nurseries sold in Hampshire this summer, an area I have always seen great demand in, but more so in 2022 than ever.”
Legal advice for the vendor was provided by Georgina Bryant and Rob Davenport from Barcan Kirby, and Rebecca Leask and Joe Mulrenan from Harrison Clark Rickerbys Solicitors acted for the buyer.
Fordingbridge Day Nursery and The Coach House Day Nursery were sold for an undisclosed price.
