N Family Club launches 50+ apprenticeship scheme

N Family Club has announced the launch of its brand new apprenticeship, created to entice more over 50s into the early years sector

ONS monthly labour market data has indicated an increase in the economic activity levels of older workers, who are likely returning to the workplace due to increasing inflation and rising living costs. N Family Club believes that by attracting this experienced cohort of career returners and new-to-sector educators, that they can not only reverse some part of the impact on staffing that was felt due to Covid- 19, but that in doing so they can enhance their educational offering for the children at the same time.

N’s people director, Mark Hassan-Ali said, “As an employer, we recognise that our diverse team is our greatest strength and that our team’s life experiences really enrich learning opportunities and offer the very best environment for the children. There’s so much value in the 50-plus age group for this reason, plus the impact they can have on our team culture is huge. In the short time that we’ve been working with Rest Less, we’ve already seen a big uptick in applications and we’re excited to see how it develops”

Stuart Lewis, chief executive of Rest Less, commented: “We are excited to support N Family Club as it builds an age-inclusive workforce. Experienced employees are a valuable asset to any business but there is something particularly special about transferring life and work skills for the benefit of young children. N Family Club’s innovative apprenticeship scheme, which they hope will appeal to workers aged 50+ who are keen to retrain, is a fantastic way into a rewarding and fulfilling second career for midlifers who are looking for a change of path.”

As part of its “N Flex” offering, the company offers an array of flexible roles and shift patterns to allow anyone, at any stage of life, to kick start their career in the early years. In addition to investing in team’s learning, personal and professional development, N also offers a variety of wellbeing-related benefits, including access to wellbeing apps, an EAP scheme, reasonable adjustments, discretionary and sick leave and health and menopause support.
