N Family Club celebrates Eco-Schools’ Green Flag programme
18 N Family Club nurseries have been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation for their commitment to exceptional environmental learning and climate action.
The Eco-Schools framework supports early years settings as they assess, track, benchmark and celebrate environmental excellence. To attain Green Flag accreditation, nurseries must engage in a seven-step programme led by an eco-committee of children and team members.
Upon completion, the projects are vetted by an independent inspector from Eco-Schools. This requires hard work and dedication but the achievement has a positive impact on the whole nursery.
Commenting on the achievement, Adam Flint, Eco-Schools national manager said “Achieving the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award takes creativity, collaboration, commitment, passion and empathy for our planet and people.
“The 18 nurseries – across both children and staff – from N Family Club have shown this in spades! They’re an inspiration to everyone and they’ve made their sites greener and cleaner places for all who visit. It’s an incredible achievement.”
The Eco-Schools Green Flag acknowledges, rewards and celebrates the ecological achievements of children, demonstrating that their hard work is appreciated and motivating them to continue to actively engage with environmental issues throughout their lifetime.”
Claire Brown, impact manager at N Family Club) stressed the importance of this, stating “At N, we believe that activism and impact on social and environmental issues should not be the niche, but the norm. We want to unleash a generation of children to do good, and our curriculum is designed to build the curiosity, confidence, capability and compassion for our children to become informed and inspired changemakers. Participation in the Eco-Schools programme is an integral part of this.”
As a certified B Corp, N Family Club is committed to reducing the impact of their every day operations and preserving our planet’s resources for the future. By focusing on the planet as a primary stakeholder, they are keeping environmental impact at the forefront of their strategies, keeping environmental impact to a minimum.
