Safari park nursery launches first tipi classroom
A Kids Planet nursery located in the grounds of a safari park has launched the company’s first outdoor tipi classroom.
Kids Planet Knowsley Safari Park‘s new classroom initiative supports the company’s nature-based outdoor learning ‘Udeskole’ approach, which received the 2023 NMT National Nursery Award for Nursery Training and Development.
The Udeskole approach, which was designed by head of outdoor learning Rhiannon Mountain, is inspired by Nordic countries. It connects children, practitioners, families, and local communities to nature, and was developed to inspire and support nurseries to embrace all that is outdoors, supporting children’s wellbeing and learning outcomes.
“We are beyond excited to present our first outdoor classroom at the beautiful grounds of Knowsley Safari Park,” said Mountain. “The tipi is just magical and even better in real life. It is full of unique products to inspire awe and wonder and I can’t wait to see the adventures to be had. Watch this space.”
