Lysth Nursery in Hither Green sold to LEYF
Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Lysth Nursery in Hither Green, South East London.
Lysth Nursery is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’, profitable day nursery that can accommodate up to 48 children from birth to five years. The setting operates from a well-located converted property with a large outdoor play area – a rarity in many parts of London – and attracts parents from the local area and those commuting into central London.
Lysth Nursery was established by Ms Shukun Li in 2015 and was recently brought to market to allow her to pursue other career interests outside of the sector.
Following a confidential sales process with Christie & Co, it has sold to the London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) Nurseries, which takes the group to 40 settings across the capital.
Ms Shukun Li, former owner at Lysth Nursery, commented: “We are pleased to secure a sale to LEYF. It was clear from the outset that LEYF’s values and approach to care was closely aligned with ours and we wish them all the very best.”
Samantha Creme, director of strategy and business development at LEYF, stated: “We are extremely proud to welcome the Lysth team to the LEYF family. As a charitable social enterprise, we believe that all children deserve equal access to high-quality early years education and care. The team and parents in Hither Green are a great fit for LEYF, especially as the first acquisition as part of our latest growth strategy. In the coming months, LEYF will be investing in the nursery premises to further enhance the experience for children, staff, and parents.”
Sophie Willcox, director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “We received a lot of interest in Lysth throughout the marketing process. Buyers could see the potential the business had and how well located it is to service young families that live locally. We received interest from both existing operators and first-time buyers, and were happy to complete the sale to LEYF which are a great fit for the business and their focus on ensuring the staff team are happy was great to see. I wish them all the best for the future of the business.
“This is yet another great example of a brilliant leasehold sale across South London.”
