A brand-new Bright Horizons nursery in Purley will be led by manager Gemma Bruton when it opens this September. Gemma has more than 15 years’ worth of experience in Early Years and is thrilled to embark on this exciting new opportunity.  

The new Purley Day Nursery and Preschool is located on Whytecliffe Road North close to essential travel links. It will create more than 30 jobs and will offer 101 places for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Gemma said: “Purley is in a good location with the train station almost next door meaning commuting to London will be very easy for parents,” she said. “There are some wonderful ideas coming together and I can’t wait to put them in place and share these with our families.

“We have already hired a number of fantastic staff and are all set for our September opening as we continue to recruit. Early years is a fantastic sector to work in – it is so rewarding to support children in such an important time in their lives. We help the children prepare for the next stages in life. Watching the children grow, become confident and independent learners is just the best.”

Gemma started her career as an apprentice at Bright Horizons when she joined Banstead Day Nursery and Preschool back in September 2007, her first full-time job. Since then, Gemma’s career has gone from strength to strength where she has worked her way up by enrolling in fully funded training courses provided by Bright Horizons to become a Nursery Manager, her most recent role of has been at Epsom Day Nursery and Preschool since last August. Her courses have included completing the Level 3 apprenticeship qualification as well as a Level 4 in management. Purley is Gemma’s next exciting challenge.  

The new build, state-of-the-art nursery will boast brand-new resources and equipment split into seven individual rooms ranging across three floors, providing childcare for children from 3 months to 5 years old. Its garden will include play structures helping to inspire young minds with the outdoors and building a love of nature.
