Kids Planet Warrington have been enjoying getting out in the local community and giving back this Christmas time.

Kids Planet Warrington visited Warrington Hospital and handed over the resources and toys that they have donated to the hospital from Kids Planet.

Joined by children from St. Gregory’s High School, the children performed Christmas songs and had a lovely time getting into the Christmas spirit.

Nicola Daniels, deputy manager at Kids Planet Warrington, said:

“Here at our setting, we feel that it is important it give back to our community and our NHS especially after the recent tough times after pandemic. Warrington hospital is in our local community and we really wanted to help children to recover through play. Play allows children to learn and explore at their own pace and is a crucial part of a child’s development. We are so happy that many children and families will benefit from the resources that we have given.

Working with Helen and the charity has always been a pleasure for us as we have a great relationship and have worked together for years and will continue to do so to help others in need. Thank you to Helen and the team at Warrington and Halton Hospitals charity for all the hard work you do everyday to raise awareness and funds for important projects.”

Helen Higginson, head of fundraising at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Charity, expressed: “We are delighted to receive such wonderful gifts of which will truly make a difference to our young patients experience whilst in hospital. Our Children’s ward Activity Coordinator explained that play is a huge part of recovery gifts such as this will certainly help boost that journey as well as provide the opportunity to make new friends. Thank you Kids Planet Warrington for your ongoing support. Together we are amazing.”

Not only that, on 6^th December, the team took part in an Elf Run, raising money for St Rocco’s Hospice. There was a great turn out, with not only parents and grandparents joining but also a visit from an Elf! We have raised £360 so far.
