Kids Planet launches outdoor apprenticeship
The Kids Planet Training Academy has launched a Level 5 Outdoor Learning Specialist Apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship supports outdoor leads including sports coaches, Forest School and Udeskole leads in the design, planning and delivery of programmes using sport, outdoor activities and experiences and connection to nature. The Danish word ‘Udeskole’ translates as ‘outdoor school’, and Kids Planet already offers an Udeskole qualification.
Gill Mason, head of training and development at Kids Planet, said: “Kids Planet is passionate about supporting outdoor learning recognising that outdoor learning is a vital part of children’s development and wellbeing. We understand the importance of ensuring our team has the skills and opportunities to ensure quality experiences and opportunities are wide and varied for our children, whilst truly embracing outdoor learning.”
After completing the apprenticeship, Kids Planet outdoor learning specialists will understand the context of outdoor learning and the positive impact it can have on the lives and wellbeing of children and young people. and will be responsible for leading on outdoor activities.
