Kids Planet expands into the North East with latest acquisition
Nursery group Kids Planet – the 3rd largest nursery group in the UK – has acquired Choice Childcare
The group, which currently operates nurseries across the North West, Yorkshire, Midlands, Oxford and Cambridge, has announced the acquisition of Choice Childcare, which operates five nurseries in the North East of England.
The latest acquisition takes Kids Planet from 120 to 125 nurseries and sees its operations expanding into the North East for the first time since the group’s beginnings in 2008.
The five Choice Childcare nurseries are in Westerhope, Gosforth, Cramlington, Wallsend and Sunderland.
Clare Roberts, chief executive at Kids Planet said: “We are extremely excited about the acquisition of Choice Childcare which has an established presence in the North East early years sector. As with all our settings, our number one priority is to offer the highest quality of care and education. We look forward to building on the legacy of the founders by continuing to create environments in which children can develop and thrive”.
Ajeet Chadda, former owner, said: “Running and growing Choice Childcare over the past decade or so has been a huge part of our lives, and it was never going to be an easy decision to handover the reigns to anyone. However, from the moment we met the Kids Planet team, we knew they were the right people to take the business forward and to the next level. They were a pleasure to deal with from the outset and we wish them every success in establishing presence in the North East.”
