Kids Planet acquires eight nurseries in East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull

Kids Planet Day Nurseries has acquired Fieldside Day Nursery in Great Heck, and Tiptoes Day Nursery, a group of seven nurseries across Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire.

This marks the 213th setting for Kids Planet which has grown through a combination of acquisition and greenfield developments, providing the highest standard of early years education and care across the UK for over 30,000 children.

Fieldside Day Nursery is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with lots of outdoor provision and committed educators who encourage varied activities for children to enjoy an advanced learning experience.

Tiptoes has built a fantastic local reputation for outstanding care and their ethos is to work closely with parents to give children the best possible start in life and get them ready to make the most of primary school. The committed and caring members of staff are extremely passionate about early years childcare and providing exceptional development opportunities for every child.

Clare Roberts, chief executive at Kids Planet Day Nurseries, said:

“I am delighted to welcome these eight nurseries and their wonderful teams into the Kids Planet family. We are continuing to grow our network of award-winning nurseries but our core values remain consistent with high-quality early years education at the heart of everything we do. I look forward to supporting all of the teams, children and families moving forwards.”

Gail and Colin Hope, previous owners of Fieldside, said:

“As a family, we have always been passionate about childcare and education and after 23 years of building Fieldside from scratch, selling was not an easy decision. Kids Planet has the ethos and family values that we feel are so important for great childcare settings. After our initial meeting with Kids Planet and working with their amazing team, we know we have found the right successors and Fieldside will continue to develop and prosper for all our families and staff.”

Helen and Paul Gibson, former owners of Tiptoes, said:

“Working with Kids Planet was a fitting end to 15 wonderful years of building and running Tiptoes. From our very first interaction with Kids Planet, their professionalism and extensive experience in the field was evident. They made the entire process feel incredibly seamless and every step of the transition has been handled with care. It has left us feeling confident that our beloved nurseries are in the best possible hands. We know our business will continue to value the well-being of children and education. We can’t thank Kids Planet enough and we are excited about the future of our nurseries with them at the helm.”

In 2018, the group launched its Training Academy to educate and grow new talent within the early years sector. Kids Planet prides itself on ‘home grown’ talent, and believes firmly in retaining practitioners by offering varied and rewarding progression opportunities, from SEND champions, outdoor leads, sports coaches, senior managers, and much more.

Founded in 2008 by Clare Roberts and her father John Hoban, initially with two settings in Warrington and Widnes, Kids Planet has grown significantly over the last 16 years with a mission to deliver the highest quality of childcare. With Clare as chief executive and her sister Lucy Kaczmarska as operations director, Kids Planet remains a family-run and family-focused business.
