Grandir UK purchases Woking nursery

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of DayDream Nursery in Woking to Grandir UK

DayDream Nursery is a substantial freehold setting with operating capacity for up to 39 children aged one to four. It occupies a large building which was sympathetically converted from a residential dwelling into a day nursery, and is located in an affluent area in Horsell, Woking. The business has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and is known locally for providing exceptional ‘home from home’ care.

The setting was opened in 2001 by husband-and-wife team, Gill and Giles Verity, along with their business partner, Jayne Noble, who, together, have owned and managed the nursery ever since. It was recently brought to market to allow Gill, Giles, and Jayne to retire and spend more time with family.

Following a confidential sales process, the business has been sold to national nursery group, Grandir UK.

Giles commented:

“We are delighted that Grandir are the new owners, and we look forward to seeing the development of the nursery that we founded all those years ago.”

Speaking on behalf of Grandir UK, chief executive, Lydia Hopper, commented:

“A very warm welcome to all the children, families, and the team at DayDream! We are very much looking forward to meeting everyone over the coming weeks.”

Sophie Willcox, director, childcare & education at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added:

“We received a lot of interest in DayDream, no doubt due to the stunning property and potential that the business has. We are seeing more and more parties looking to acquire freehold properties recently and I wish Grandir UK all the best for the future of DayDream.”

Legal advice for the vendors was supplied by Georgina Bryant at Barcan+Kirby.

DayDream Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
