The week ahead: 8-15 September

Don’t miss out! We’ll help you plan the next seven days with our round-up of everything that’s happening in the early years sector.

Update yourself on EYFS changes

Foundation Years is running a free webinar on 13 September. The two-hour evening event includes an Early Years Foundation Stage profile update from the Department for Education, a discussion on the impact of EYFS reforms led by Ofsted’s early education principal officer Wendy Ratcliff, and a presentation focusing on engaging children in high-quality interactions.

Embrace diversity

On 12 September, Community Playthings is running free webinar Getting to know you: Developing a sense of belonging, hosted by Laura Henry-Allain, author of bestseller My Skin, Your Skin and creator of the JoJo and Gran Gran characters on CBeebies. The event will cover developing key person-child attachments and embracing diversity. Participants will gain an exclusive discount code for Laura’s personally signed books.

Get informed

The Froebel Trust has just published three interactive documents summarising recent early childhood research. The documents, which aim to support educators in their work with babies and young children, focus on young children and digital technology, risk and challenge in baby and toddler play, and communicative music play with young children.
