The week ahead: 28 July to 4 August
Don’t miss out! We’ll help you plan the next seven days with our round-up of everything that’s happening in the early years sector.
Plan for play
Playday 2023 takes place on Wednesday 2 August, with the theme “playing on a shoestring – making every day an adventure.” This year’s theme focuses on everyday low-cost or no-cost play adventures that children can enjoy at home, in settings, and in the community. Visit the Playday web site to find out more, or search #Playday2023 on Twitter to find out what other settings are up to.
Take part in the DfE’s funding consultation
The Department for Education is seeking views on how funding will be distributed when it rolls out the new entitlements for working parents of children aged nine months to two years. This is your chance to feed into the consultation.
Help lobby the government
The Early Education Childcare Coalition and researchers from The University of Leeds are running a survey on working conditions in the sector. The report will be used to lobby the two main political parties at their party conferences in the autumn to try and give early years the attention it needs. Managers who fill in the survey have a chance to win a cash prize.
