The week ahead: 15-22 September
Don’t miss out! We’ll help you plan the next seven days with our round-up of everything that’s happening in the early years sector.
Give feedback on assessment in early years
The Department for Education has launched a short survey to seek the views of early years practitioners and managers on assessment in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Feedback from the sector will help shape future policy development in this area. Deadline is October 3.
Take part in National Fitness Day
Wednesday 20 September is National Fitness Day, a chance to encourage everyone to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity. It’s a great opportunity to engage children, parents and staff in activity and healthy eating, and to show how physical activity impacts on child development and wellbeing.
Encourage parents to take part in The Big Ambition
The Children’s Commissioner, Rachel de Souza, wants to take children’s thoughts, opinions and ideas to decision-makers. The Big Ambition aims to give children an opportunity to share what they need to make their lives better. Parents are encouraged to complete the survey for those under six, to make sure the needs of early years children are represented.
