Family First acquire day nursery in Surrey
Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Drayton House Nursery School in Surrey.
Drayton House is a 65-place day nursery catering for children aged six months to five years. Situated in a central location in Guildford, Surrey, the setting has an excellent reputation as one of the most enchanting, respected and sought-after nursery schools of its kind in the county, and is well-known as a friendly and happy place.
The nursery was founded in 1943 and the current owner, Jennifer Tyson- Jones, took over the business in 1984 and has run it successfully ever since. The Drayton House logo was drawn by the owner’s mother and continues to be used today by the new owners, Family First.
Following a confidential sales process, the business has been sold to national nursery group, Family First.
Sophie Willcox, director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, who assisted with the sale, commented “Drayton House is a unique and special nursery situated in a stunning property. Family First was the right buyer to carry on Jenny and her mother’s legacy and I wish them all the best for the future.
“This is yet another example of the demand for good quality nurseries that have recovered to pre-Covid-19 levels.”
Legal advice for the vendor was provided by Julie Hughes and Lauren Romo at Cripps Pemberton Greenish, and the buyer used Rebecca Leask and Joe Mulrenan from Harrison Clark Rickerbys Solicitors.
Drayton House Nursery School was sold for an undisclosed price.
