The Puddleduck Nursery in South London has been bought by first-time buyer Kim Bradley, owner of new company Luna Nurseries.
Dudley hospital nursery sold for first time
Treetops Day Nursery, located in the grounds of Russell Hall Hospital in Dudley, has been sold to a national group.
Established in 1993 by Janet Carroll, Treetops Day Nursery is registered for up to 68 children. The business, which was run under management by Carroll’s daughters Emma and Charlotte, was recently brought to market because of a family decision to exit the sector.
Following a confidential sales process with Jassi Sunner, associate director – childcare & education at Christie & Co, the nursery has been sold to a small national group operator looking to increase its presence in the Midlands.
“Any day nursery that is co-located with a hospital will benefit from strong occupancy levels and that is exactly how things work for Treetops with Russells Hall Hospital,” said Sunner. “The staff at the hospital see the nursery as an absolute necessity to provide local childcare whilst they work different shift patterns.”
He added: “This is another excellent example of smaller groups looking to grow across the Midlands and shows how competitive the market is in the region. We wish the Carroll family all the best with their future and look forward to working with the buyers again.”
The name of the group has not been disclosed.
