Crawley day nursery sold for the first time

Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co, has announced the freehold sale of Daisy Chain Day Nursery in Crawley, West Sussex.

Established in 2010 by Richard Paisley and working closely with the Manager, Veronica Sullivan, Daisy Chain Day Nursery has evolved over the years to provide Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ care for up to 58 children at any one time. The nursery has taken inspiration from Reggio Emilia which helps to promote learning through enhancing natural creative skills. They worked hard to create a home-from-home environment which is stimulating and friendly and draws upon a range of activities to improve learning like music, sensory classes, and role play.

Richard recently decided to sell to focus on his other businesses outside the sector. Veronica plans to continue at the nursery in a managerial position.

Following a confidential sales process with Sophie Willcox at Christie & Co, the nursery has been purchased by the owners of Green Roots Limited, an existing operator with a setting in Emsworth.

Richard Paisley, former owner of Daisy Chain Day Nursery, commented: “It has been a pleasure working with Veronica over the last 14 years to build a thriving nursery. We wish the new owners the best of luck for the future.”

Harry and Gemma Lawson, directors at Green Roots Limited, stated: “The ethos of Daisy Chain fits well with our Green Roots values, providing real-world experiences in a home-from-home environment. We look forward to bringing our energy and experience in purposeful play to offer first-class childcare, supporting parents and allowing children to enjoy the thrill of learning.”

Sophie Willcox, director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, added: “I am delighted to have found Richard a buyer who is looking to work alongside the manager, Veronica, to continue delivering exceptional childcare. I wish Gemma and Harry at Green Roots Limited the best of luck for the future of the business. This is yet another freehold sale that we have seen across the South in 2024.”

Daisy Chain Day Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
