Cherubs Nurseries opens new setting
Cherubs Nurseries has opened a new setting in Ilkeston, Derbyshire providing early years care and education for children aged six-weeks to five-years.
The nursery was officially opened on Friday 30 August by Deputy Mayor of Erewash, Harry Atkison.
Situated in the former Factory Kitchen restaurant on Mundy Street, the recently renovated and refurbished 2-storey 72-place nursery is split across four-age appropriate rooms.
The nursery has been furnished with sustainable Millhouse (supplied by Chequered Fox) and Community Playthings furniture, with 3 outdoor environments thoughtfully curated by Timotay Playscapes. Cherubs Ilkeston also provides Cherubs Nurseries’ blended approach to early years teaching inspired by Montessori, Hygge, Reggio and Forest School.
Furthermore, the nursery has been equipped with the highest possible specification – following Cherubs Nurseries new concept. Complete with air conditioning, Sonos surround sound and a family Room. Here parents are encouraged to work, meet with other parents or grab a hot drink before heading off to work.
Susan Mills, founder and chief executive commented: “We are so pleased to be putting down roots in Ilkeston. The team have worked incredibly hard to bring this nursery to life and equip it with the best facilities and Educators. Together we’ll deliver our vision to give every child the best start in life, making every day even brighter than the last. I wish the team every success and extend a warm welcome to our new children and families.”
Amanda Crozier, nursery manager added: “It is such a pleasure and privilege to open this new nursery, and bring Cherubs Nurseries to Ilkeston – the second in Derbyshire for us. Being local myself, I know there is a huge need for a high quality provider in the area – and Cherubs Ilkeston is just that. Now that we are officially open, we can get to work and show Ilkeston why we are award-winning and a provider of choice.”
The nursery wants to encourage sustainable and eco-friendly practices with biodegradable nappies and wipes from Kit and Kin, toiletries from Bramley, provision of a cycle rack for staff and parents (alongside a Cycle to Work scheme for staff) and a buggy store for parents who walk to drop-off/pick up their children.
