Butterfly Barns Day Nursery sold to existing operator
Business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Butterfly Barns Day Nursery in Colchester, Essex.
Established in 2005 by Ms Dena Leek, Butterfly Barns Day Nursery has historically provided Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ childcare for up to 50 children aged 0 to 5 years and has gone from strength to strength in its recovery following the Covid-19 pandemic.
The nursery has been purchased by Mr Alpesh and Mrs Sangeeta Patel who also own Oakland Hall Day Nursery in Ipswich.
Ms Leek commented: “The nursery has a wonderful, homely feel and is situated by a nature trail so is perfect for outdoor learning. I am sure the new owners will take the nursery forward, allowing it to continue to evolve and thrive.”
Sophie Willcox, director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added: “Butterfly Barns is an especially attractive opportunity due to how well it recovered from the pandemic and the excellent staff team that are in place, so it’s no surprise that we received a lot of interest on this setting. The market is exceptionally active at the moment, and this is a prime example of the strong demand we are seeing for high-quality nursery assets in the area.
“Congratulations to Alpesh and Sangeeta on their second nursery. Dena was a pleasure to work for and I wish her all the best for the future.”
Butterfly Barns Day Nursery was sold at an undisclosed price.
