Busy Bees Coventry Allesley Green nursery celebrates ‘Outstanding’
Children and staff at Busy Bees Coventry Allesley Green are celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating, following an Ofsted inspection
This is the nursery’s second ‘Outstanding’ result with the Ofsted inspector commenting that children ‘thrive at this highly nurturing and awe-inspiring nursery’.
The nursery gained an ‘Outstanding’ rating in all areas, including for introducing children to ‘new learning in exciting and stimulating ways’.
Parents speak ‘extremely highly’ of the nursery, praising the ‘thorough communication’ about their child’s learning and that ‘staff truly go above and beyond with the support they offer’. They commented that ‘their children are making incredible progress’ and ‘regularly come home demonstrating the new skills and vocabulary they have learned’.
The inspection report also highlights how children’s progress is regularly monitored and ‘shared with parents to complement their learning outside of nursery’.
Staff were also recognised for having ‘extremely high expectations for all children’, with children’s behaviour described as ‘excellent’ and ‘children use exceptional manners’.
Children ‘delight in the praise they receive from staff’ and ‘beam with excitement as they learn new skills’. Older children celebrate their friends’ achievements by ringing a bell each time they accomplish something new, ‘which motivates them even further in their learning’.
Support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is described as ‘exceptional’, with the nursery working ‘closely with parents and external agencies to create individual learning plans’ ensuring families ‘receive swift, targeted and highly effective support’.
Children were noted to be ‘highly engaged in purposeful play at all times’, enjoying a ‘wealth of opportunities’ to develop their independence and physical skills and the nursery offers quality additional experiences, such as football and French and German sessions, to ‘further aid their learning and development’.
The curriculum for communication, language and literacy is described as ‘particularly strong’, with children ‘regularly introduced to new and challenging vocabulary’ to support their speaking skills, and that ‘children have access to, and self select, a variety of books’.
Attention is also paid to children learning about a ‘wide variety of cultural festivals’ and different family set-ups, helping them to ‘understand that being unique is what makes them special’.
Jill Hamer, centre director at Busy Bees Coventry Allesley Green, said: “We are so thrilled to receive our second ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted. Our team is committed to building positive relationships with parents and working together to ensure we can offer each child the best start in life.”
Jill, who has worked at the nursery for 30 years, added: “I am so proud of the whole team here. Many of us have been here for many years and we know that parents value that longstanding commitment to making our nursery a wonderful place for children to learn and grow.”
