Bracknell day nursery acquired by Bright Stars group
Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Teepee Private Day Nursery, in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Teepee is a 53-place nursery that was established over 20 years ago by its former owner Emma Tennant, who, prior to owning a nursery, worked in marketing. By combining her skill sets and knowledge, Emma founded Teepee; a unique nursery whose space has been thoughtfully curated to provide the very best learning environment that promotes creativity and curiosity in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
The setting has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted three times in a row and has several awards and accolades to its name, including Quality Counts NDNA Platinum, Elklan’s Communication Friendly Setting status, and a Wellbeing Award for Schools. It is a truly unique setting and has enjoyed consistently strong occupancy, with the business growing in profitability year on year.
Emma and her husband, David, felt now was the right time to sell to allow them to explore other ventures outside of the sector.
Following a competitive confidential sales process with Sophie Willcox at Christie & Co, the setting has been purchased by Bright Stars, a premium nursery group operating across the country. This takes the group to 103 settings.
Emma Tennant, former owner of Teepee Private Day Nursery, commented: “I wish Bright Stars all the very best and can’t wait to see the nursery keep growing from strength to strength.”
Kirsty Ibbott, M&A director at Bright Stars, said: “We are delighted to announce our recent acquisition of Teepee Private Day Nursery. This charming nursery perfectly complements our dedication to our unwavering commitment to nurturing the growth and well-being of children. Teepee has established itself as a reliable and reputable childcare provider under the previous owner, Emma Tennant, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome their passionate team into the Bright Stars family.
“The future of Teepee Private Day Nursery fills us with great enthusiasm. Together, we will strive to maintain a nurturing and inspiring atmosphere, enabling children to flourish and achieve their utmost potential.”
Sophie Willcox, director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, said: “It was brilliant to act for Emma and David again. Every so often, I get to work on special opportunities like Teepee. Not only is it a brilliantly run business, but the quality of the childcare is second to none. We received multiple bids from a variety of operators, and I believe it’s the perfect fit for Bright Stars, I wish them all the success with the nursery in the future.
“I’d like to extend a special thanks to Julie Hughes, Lauren Romo and Rachel Holdaway at Cripps for all their hard work in getting this to completion.”
Teepee Private Day Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
