Wellbeing matters at Canary Wharf nursery
Children at Bright Horizons Bank Street Day Nursery and Preschool, located on Canary Wharf, have been learning about the importance of wellbeing through its pioneering curriculum – Bright Beginnings.
The curriculum, which is in place at all Bright Horizons nurseries in England, is designed to acknowledge the individual voice and needs of each child to promote confidence, wellbeing and a genuine love for learning.
Nursery manager Naomi Runeckles said: “The children in our Rising 3’s rooms recently took part in a wellbeing activity where they recognised facial expressions and identified their emotions by making different faces on the paper and playing with the puppets. They had a chance to explore and express their emotions and also practiced managing them.”

By the end of the activity, the children became more confident when talking about their emotions and recognising whether they were happy or sad.
