Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries donates unused laptops to Oakridge School

The past 12 months have been incredibly difficult for many organisations and charities.

Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries have had to juggle their own operations through the pandemic, facing new challenges while continuing to deliver high quality childcare.

Coming through into 2021. the nursery reflected a lot on what they could do to support communities. To support  its local community, Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery donated some unused laptops to Oakridge School in High Wycombe.

The laptops have helped positively impact families of the school whose children can now access online learning from home. Oakridge School were over the moon with our donation and passed on the below message:

‘On behalf of the families at Oakridge School, a huge thank you for the laptops that you donated to support our children with their online learning. At the start of lockdown, most of our pupils were sharing devices on which they could access their learning, and were not all able to log in at the same time. Pupils were trying to learn using mobile phones and were not able to see the screens well.

‘It has therefore made a huge difference to our families to be able to access their online lessons when they need to and to have a screen on which children can read the work on the board. 75 % of our pupils do not speak English at home and many of our parents are struggling to support their children with their learning, therefore, it is vital that we are able to teach live lessons via Zoom. We are aiming that every child in the school has access to one device and is able to access all their lessons every day.’
